Guru Purnima: Celebration of Teachers

Today is Guru Purnima! This day is always celebrated on a full moon in the Indian month of Ashadh (June/July). The word guru literally translates to "remover of the darkness" and Guru Purnima is a day to honor and thank all the teachers. In India the celebration honors both religious, spiritual, and academic teachers. 

Thanksgiving Cooking

I've finally arrived at my parents house! My dad had to do some work in NYC yesterday so I was able to get a ride back with him. From 9 until 2 we were at two different showrooms and then we had a really yummy lunch at a natural restaurant.  We left the city at 3pm but didn't get home until 10:15pm.  Usually it only takes us three hours to get home from NYC but there was a big accident on our way up so we sat in the car for an extra four hours.  But now I'm home which feels so good! I haven't been here since July and after all my traveling it feels like a great treat.
