Ollie's Favorite Dog Biscuits

Ollie is one of the best kitchen helpers. He sits by the door and watches my every move. I'm convinced that if he only had opposable thumbs he would be a great cook. Unlike many other dogs I've spent lots of time around he is not very good at cleaning things up that drop on the floor. If I drop anything, even cheese, he doesn't run right over and gobble it up. I have to call him over and point it out a few times. Even then he still looks at me like he is asking "Mom, are you sure you want me to eat that?"

He's been having allergies and dry skin and some of our fellow golden families suggested making dog biscuits with coconut oil. The coconut oil is a great, natural way to help his allergies. And hopefully will make him stop licking his feet all the time.

Ollie's Favorite Dog Biscuits
1/4 cup peanut butter (organic)
1/3 cup water
2 tablespoons coconut oil, melted
3/4 cup whole wheat flour
3/4 cup white flour

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Mix together all the ingredients.  Roll out the dough and cut into any shape. I made rectangles since we don't have any cookie cutters. Place on a cutting board and roll out the dough until it's about 1/3 of an inch thick.  Then cut into desired shapes. Place on a baking sheet.  Bake for 10 minutes and turn them over. Bake for another 5 minutes or until golden brown. After they have cooled call your four legged friend over and give them a treat!

  1. I've been wanting to try making homemade dog treats, and these look good to try. I bet my puppies will love them!
