Second Bar & Kitchen: Austin, TX

This weekend Steve and I went into Austin for the first time.  We went to the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum, walked around 6th Street, visited the original Whole Foods (which is HUGE), drove through UT where they were tailgating at 10am for a 7pm game, drove along the river/lake, saw Josh Turner at Austin City Limits, walked around SoCo, and had a fabulous dinner at Second Bar & Kitchen. This was the best meal Steve and I have had out together since an amazing night in Birmingham, AL on our drive to Texas in April.

First I had corn gazpacho with roasted corn, avacado crema, tortilla strips, and cilantro.

These are Smoked Salmon Hush Puppies with a tarter sauce that Steve said is the best one he's ever had.

This is Steve's Braised Short Ribs with Black Truffle Grits.

This is my Roasted Cauliflower on a bed a quinoa topped with an arugula salad.

For desert Steve had two bite sized brownies and I had Jasmine Rice Pudding with raisins and carrot curry ice cream.

This was such a great meal! Anyone who wants to come visit we would love to go back with you!!
